It's been sometime since I last posted. Unfortunately it's a sad post. McMinn went to the Bridge during the night. He never fully recovered from his mini-stroke. He didn't have the full use of his paws and had to eat and drink directly from the bowl. He would have bouts of laboured breathing. Last night he had his weekly bath, to clean him throughly, as he couldn't really bathe himself. He was warm and dry when I returned him to his clean cage. The Keeper heard him breathing loudly and I picked McMinn up... he was curled up with his eyes closed. He didn't open his eyes. I knew then that the end was near. His breathing eased and he finally opened his eyes. After holding and cuddling him an hour or so, I returned him to a warm (heating pad) cage, on a sweatshirt. This morning he was gone, looking like he just went sleep. The best I can figure he was 2 yrs and about 5 months old. He waits at the Bridge with his new friends. I miss my cuddlebug rattie. Julia and The Mischief Makers I dread the day that I lose my boys. They are the first I have ever had. I always had girls. I never knew how much a boy ratty could steal my heart, till now.
