Miss Niobe is going in for a lump removal and spay next Wednesday. This is the first time I've had a rat operated on at all, because it's the first time I've had a vet who's really experienced with rat surgery. (Ariadne got stiches under anesthesia, and assorted rats have been sedated for x-rays, but that's not quite the same thing.) Don't assume the worst, I was told lumps are successfully removed most of the time. I've had loads of rats go through surgery and only one didn't turn out so well. Miss Niobe with such a pretty name will soon be well again!!
