The only situation that I have been involved in was with regards to a
couple who were relocating from Vancouver to Montreal, with a stopover
in Toronto, and it was a horrific situation.
Air Canada lost their rat, Mousie, nobody wanted to do anything,
everyone either threw up their hands and dismissed it, or never even
contacted anyone in response to the situation.
Eventually I got the media involved, and Mousie's situation actually
ended happily, but it was only because of CityTV and Peter Silverman,
and the owner of Falcon Environmental Services.
I wouldn't trust a soul to fly my rats, with or without me being aboard.

well I was trying to get a rescue ratty from the usa and i was denied
because the usa doesnt allow for rats to be shipped across the boarder.
Its too bad cuz they were lil cuties

Hmm, that's interesting. I know of people who have flown rats up from
the states with no problem. Has it changed recently? You can always
drive them across as well.

Airlines do a poor enough job shipping dogs and cats (that generally
everyone likes and thinks are cute) that I would never trust them with ANY
animal, let alone rats.

It would be done by a private airline that I know and trust, but this
rescue is saying the gov doesnt allow for it. Its next to impossible to
find hairless rats in winnipeg. Severe allergies prevent me from owning
a standard hairy.

Methinks maybe a double rex wouldn't give you a reaction. A lot of
double rexes are *nearly* hairless. My girls have nothing more than a
little peach fuzz. In my area at least, it's easier to find double rexes
than genuinely hairless rats.

I had a female double rexie before but she died. I have no issues with
them the are a lot harder to come by than a hairless. :)
