post your record-holder rat's life time!

Personally my 2 current rats are the toughest I've ever hard. They are 2
years and 5 months old. One of them has 2 mammary tumors but still seem
happy. The other one is top-shape.

My current rattie, Max, is the record holder at 2 years, 9 months and 9
days!  He has hind leg paralysis, but still manages to get around by
dragging himself with his front legs.  He is very skinny and looks so frail,
but eats like a hog - as I type he's noshing on some boiled egg and before
that enjoyed a dish of porridge for his breakfast.  The old guy certainly
loves his grub!

My longest lived was my first rat, Simon.  He was a feeder bin rattie
from a big chain store, the only one I ever bought from a petstore.
Simon was around four when he passed away.  That was years ago, and I
think that they definitely lived longer back then.
More recent would be my old boy, Roger.  I adopted him from the OSPCA
at two and a half years old, and he just passed away at three years and
one month.  Roger was a cranky old man, and he wasn't that well when I
adopted him.  I tried what I could, but the antibiotics had no affect
on him.  I basically let him do whatever he wanted for the time I had
him.

My oldest living rat was Niko, he was 2 years and 10 months when he
passed of old age. He did have slight rear end paralysis but he lived a
good life till the end. His brother and sister passed at 2 years and 9
months while his other brother passed at 2 years and 8 months. This was
a litter I had bred back in 2002 before I knew anything about rats. ;)

Our longest was our most recent, Arie. He lasted 3 years and 4 months,
give or take a week or two (we weren't positive when he was born). We
also had a girl, Robin, who lasted 2 years, 11 months. She even had
surgery at 2 years, 6 months, and did quite well!

The oldest Ratty man I ever had (so far) is 34 months.  The poor old
fella certainly looked his age too.
