I have a question about 2 small bumps on the lower back of my female
hairless rat. She's about a year old or so. These 2 bumps are not
that big, but they each have a small hole right smack in the middle.
They kinda look like a mini volcano. Any idea of what they could be
and/or how to treat them? My first thought is that they may be cysts
or something, but I can't find any photos online that resemble hers. I
just hope that it's not some form of cancer or something. I am not too
savy on rat skin conditions, so any help or web sites that you may have
or know of would be very helpful. Also, if I touch them, she doesn't
squeal or flinch or anything, so I don't think they're painful.

They are a type of cysts. Hairless, double rex and patchwork get many of
these cysts. They are keratin cysts. Where the hair follicles fills up
with keratin, which is a protein that makes up skin, nails and hair.
It's best to just leave them be unless they are really bothering the rat.
