Had to have Jorja PTS today. For the last couple of weeks she has been
looking her age (33 months) a bit wobbly on the back legs but still wanted
food. But over the weekend she seemed to give up and wouldn't even eat her
favourite of Rice Pudding with Strawberry jam.
She just wanted to be picked up and cuddled, so I obliged.
I took her to bed with me  last night and decided that the time had come
this morning, Jenny the vet just cuddled her while she just put the little
mask over her face, she didn't even struggle just took it in her stride, as
she was always a strong willed little critter I think she just wanted the
cuddle and the gas came secondary.

Texas is a bit confused as I have put her in a smaller cage now as she is a
little stiff and I don't want her struggling up the ladders.

Hope all your little ones are in fine health?

I'm so sorry Jackie... sounds like it was indeed time and even Jorja
knew it... and welcome it.

Isn't it funny how sometimes they do know! She just gave up and it was I
think an easy decision, I hope that doesn't sound heartless.

Not at all... it was the very same with my Jolie Bleu. She told me when
it was time and it seemed to be easier to let go.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Rat. Its a hard decision to have to make,
but it sounds like your furry was showing you its time. Rest in peace little
one.

The candle has been lit for Jorja's passing and a prayer offered for your
comfort.  Jorja waits healthy and happy at The Bridge, in the company of all
our ratties that have gone before.

Kind thoughts are winging their way to you Jackie..;)  What an amazing
age to get to.  It just has to be the pudding that did it..:)

Today I may meet with injustice, ignorance, denial, all of which are due
entirely to the other's lack of knowledge of good and evil and the

I'm so sorry, Jackie.  Try and take comfort in the fact she had a long and
happy life and knew she was loved to pieces.
