Scabs on tail: Symptom of mites?

When we first got our current rats, they developed a bad case of mites
whose symptoms were small pinpoint scabs on their bodies and
scratching. Our vet successfully treated them with a series of
injections.

Now, about 6 or 9 months later, two of them have developed a good
number of small pinpoint scabs on their tails and one of them has scabs
on his body also. Is it likely that the tail scabs are symptoms of
mites again?

Our vet is on vacation so we have not been able to take them in this
time yet...

It does sound like it can be mites again. Do you know what they were
treated with the first time?
When rats are being treated, the cage should be scrubbed down as well.
All would should be stored away for at least 3 months.

Might just be eczema - one of ours had something similar, and that was
the diagnosis (in our case I don't think it was mite related, although it
can be). The Vet gave us "Panalog" ointment - worked wonders.
