I JUST GOT 5 NEW FEMALE RATS!!!!

HI, i just got 5 new female rats. One of them has a bad cold ans
sneezes a lot. I put it on
tc (tetra-cyclin), and antibiotic. Do you think i should treat it
diffrent? Would there be
anything else i should do to help her? PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!

TC is an antibiotic. Did your vet prescribe this? I thought the usual
anitbiotic was Baytril. There is another available for rat use in the UK,
but I can't remember what. If TC is licensed for animals/rats in your
country, I'd be interested to know at what dose rate. I think (although
not sure) that it's only licensed for Human use in the UK: The idea being
that they don't want animals incubating TC-resistant bacteria: If the
course is finished properly, this shouldn't be a big danger, especially
since the majority of ratty illnesses can't be passed to humans anyway
(in a domestic environment).

Hi, did she go see a vet? Tetracyclines are antibiotics although not
strong enough to treat myco in my opinion. What's the other antibiotic
you mention?
What did the vet say? Baytril is usually the med of choice to fight
myco.
