Thought I would follow up my response to the Billy Bear post with some
recent pictures that I have uploaded to the new Google Picasa Web
program.  You can view them here:

In the 'Introductions' folder, I have pictures of both the introduction
of Neil and Milo (the blue self is Milo and the blue hooded boy is
Neil), as well as the introduction of my four east coast boys to
Jasper, my marshmallow PEW.
In the 'Multiple Rats' folder, you will see many pictures of both of
those boys and their cagemates.
Neil and Milo cuddling in their hammock:

'Single Rats' means pictures with just one rat in them, and 'Multiple
Rats' are pictures with more than one rat.  It doesn't mean that they
live single/multiple.  Just an easy way for me to file my photos.

Very nice photos. How many rats do you have?

Unfortunately not all of the rats, who are pictured there, are still
with me.  I couldn't resist adding some of the older pictures of rats
who have passed away.
Currently I have 22 males, most of which are under the 'single rats'
folder.
Maybe I should make another folder just for current rats.

No females at all? I'm guessing its because of mammary tumours.

I did have females a long time ago but only two - Holly and Ivy.  Yes,
it is partially because of the tumour issue, as both did get them.  Ivy
got a rare cervical tumour which the removal of killed her.  Holly had
three mammary tumours in total, two of which I removed.  Holly died
with the third, it was very small, because she was just not well enough
to endure surgery anymore.  You can see both girls in the 'Memorial'
section of the photos.
At one point there was an over abundance of homeless male rats in and
around the Toronto area.  The females were finding homes quickly, but
the males were being left behind.  I decided to switch to taking in
boys because of that.
Now I only stick to boys because there is no way, as cautious as I am,
that I will have both sexes in the house when they are not altered.
I have kicked around the idea of getting a female spayed when I cannot
integrate a difficult boy in with other boys, but I am reluctant in
case it doesn't work.  I bet Abu-boo would be happier with a little
girlfriend.

I was lucky with my girls neither had mammary tumours but just died of old
age. But you do get paranoid and keep checking don't you!!
