Sadly I made the decision yesterday to have Houdi PTS. His bumble foot
was showing no signs of improvement and was getting worse to the point
that his feet couldn't actually touch the floor because of the bumbles.
On pain killers he showed my sign of not being in pain as he still
wouldn't move around unless he really had to. No life for any critter
in the end. Houdi was 31 months old.
Houdi had a chequered career starting off his life being found in the
main street of town and being picked up by the SPCA...LOL only to
escape from the pound a few days later. He gave them all the run around
for two weeks before being caught in a drain pipe. Hence the name Houdi
I gave him. I don't think he ever learned how to walk, it was always
run here, dash there. He was a beautiful black and white hoodie with
fine facial features. I know my wee man is happy now with all the
others and his foot problems are no more. Its just that I miss him.
Till we meet again my Houdi Doodie.
Regards Kate

How sad. Too many losses too quickly. Makes it that much harder. Houdi
sounds like a character though. I'm sure he's having a good scamper at
the bridge.
Hugs,
Dewi.

I'm sorry to hear that; it's always hard to lose a special friend.

I'm so sorry Kate. I remember when you had just rescued him and you told us
about his talent for escaping, he always sounded like he was a real
character, bless his heart. You made the right decision to help him on his
way, he must have been utterly fed up with not being able to move without
pain. Take care.

I'm sorry for your loss Kate. As others have said he is no longer in
pain and he will be having a fine time over the bridge
