Hi Amy, welcome to the group!  There's some great people here with lots of
friendly advice when it's needed and we love hearing about everybody's
ratties' antics.  Oh and pictures of your little ones are a must ;o)

Hi Amy and welcome!
I've got 20 rats, and 18 of them live together in a huge established
colony. In that 18, I've got 5 spayed girls, 5 neutered boys and 8
intact males.
Do you have a site with pics of your crew? Mine can be seen if you
follow the link in my siggy.
We love pics and rattie stories here!!

Hi Amy, welcome to the group. I have 9 rats (7 females and 2 males), I
don't breed rats either. My male rats have been "snipped" and are
allowed to live with the females. How long have you had rats for?

Dewi.

welcome to the group, it can be quiet at times but is a good group
nevertheless.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.  I have owned rats for a little
under a year.  Naturally, they melted my heart very quickly and I went
from one pair to five pairs.  Four of the pairs are female and one of
the pairs are male.  3 of the female pairs are hairless.  I adore them
so much.  Their names are Millie & Jane, Vera Lynn & Violet, Bella &
Foebe, Led & Zep and the boys - Atomic & Hero.  I adopted all of them
from people who couldn't care for them anymore and so some of them
already had names when they joined our family.  Does anyone else have
rats that 'know' their own names?  I swear mine respond to their names,
not just my voice in general.  I will post pictures if someone can tell
me how...  Do I just insert an HTML tag etc. into the post?  Thanks
All!

Amy

It's simply wonderful of you to to have adopted "rescues".
And yes, rats are so intelligent, they definitely know their names. All
20 mine know their's for sure!!
