I will post photos of Led and Zep when I upload some. They have only been here a short while. They are gorgeous furry females, white and brown fur. (Sorry I am not good with fur colours breeds and varities.)
Dewi - 20 Nov 2006 10:00 GMT Thanks for showing the photo's, such sweeties. Is Bella really hairless? It looks like she has some fur on her. I haven't seen any hairless rats in real life. Feel like knitting them little sweaters ;)

I saw your original post where you mention Google Groups and thought you might find the following info useful, since as with many Google Groups users you're under a few misapprehensions - a mistake I think Google can be held accountable for since they do little to correctly inform users as they seem happy to let them think all of this useful information exists courtesy of Google. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternal_September
This isn't a Google Group, it's a Newsgroup existing within Usenet :)
Google does maintain a number of its own groups, however it also acts as a web based portal to the huge existing network known as Usenet. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usenet
Usenet is in fact nearly thirty years old.
Regarding including photos, non-text files (such as photos) are known as binaries. Most groups don't allow inclusion of binaries & if you try you'll either find it impossible or the files will be stripped out long before the posts get to most users. Best to post links as you have done.
You might find if you download & install a client such as Thunderbird http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/ that it will give you access to the text based newsgroups on Usenet far more easily than the web based Google Groups. Thunderbird is both an email & news client. If you must, you could also use Outlook Express.
There are many news clients available if you prefer to try a few. You'll also need permission to post to & download from an nntp server, which deals with the traffic on Usenet; your ISP very likely provides such a service & you'd just need the server name from them. Alternatively, others here can suggest possible servers, most making some modest charge for their use; a few are still free. Generally you don't need to worry about this unless you want access to binary newsgroups (some groups exist only to carry pictures, music, videos & so on).

Lynn "kitty" - 20 Nov 2006 14:11 GMT LOVE your babies. I have 10 with 4 of them being hairless kids. I do love my little hairless ones, so...and the furry ones, too, giggle.
Thanks for sharing, Lynn kitty hi everyone :)

Awwww, they are all gorgeous! Unfortunately I can't view the pic of Jane, I'm being told 'file not found', but I'm sure she's a little beauty like the rest!

They are all so gorgeous!! It's best to keep pics on a site like photobucket. Many people are viewing this list through their email program as it is really a newsgroup. Many newsgroup servers won't allow picture files to go through. So showing them through links are much better, we can all enjoy them. :)

amytrip - 21 Nov 2006 01:39 GMT Hi:
Thanks for the nice comments, everyone! Does anyone else here find they have a newfound interest in photography because of their pets? They're so fun to take pictures of! And now, with digital cameras, we can take unlimited pictures - which is nice, because out of every 100 pictures I take of my rats, about 85 of them turn out to be blurry or of furry butts because they're always moving, LOL. Thank God for digital cameras, they make it feasable to get some good shots of our wee ones.
Oh, and thanks for explaining to me about the Google groups setup. I am very familiar with Usenet so I see what this is now and why we can't embed. It's like the newsgroups from years ago. It's alright to post links, though, right?
Oh, and I must have posted the wrong link for Jane's picture, here it is again :) Here is my baby Jane and a fresh kernel of corn (special treat):

Can anyone who knows about rat varities tell me why she looks like a Dumbo rat? None of my other hairless rats look like her, her ears look like a Dumbo.
Thanks! Amy

Welcome too!
I went out and bought a $1000 camera so I could take decent pictures of my rats. They were moving around so much that my older camera could take any pictures without blurriness. It's kinda sad - but on my computer, probably 75% of my pictures and videos are of rats! I haven't gotten around to uploading anything onto a photosharing site yet. Will do as soon as I have time!

I'm lucky to get five decent pics out of a hundred. We take a lot in the evening though & I've yet to sort out some decent lighting.
