I need some Tylan to treat mycoplasma in rats, this stuff should be non-prescription but I called and visited several vets and they all want to "see the animals" first. Can't blame them to try to make money but I know what I'm dealing with.. If it's really really mild then it may help... but I certainly wouldn't treat with Tylan, just the fact that you don't need a prescription means it's not really potent enough.
