lately i've been looking through you-tube for cool rat videos. while doing
so i came across a video of someone throwing a live (maybe 6 week old) rat
with a weight tied to it's tail into an aquarium containing about 5 pirana.
i am not going to post the link here but needless to say, it was one of the
most sadistic things i have seen in a long time. the rat's death was
mercifully very quick but i have to wonder what type of a person would a: do
this, and b: film it.
i can't believe i am supporting censorship but i think that you-tube should
remove movies that show cruel death from their site. it gives the wrong
impression about what type of site you-tube is supposed to be.

That is truly terrible. I actually avoid searching for things on you-
tube just in case I come across something like that. You can complain
to you-tube. You could also email the link to the SPCA or some other
organisation so that they can look into it.
I think you-tube tends to bring out the worst in some people. Recently
there was a video circulating showing a gang rape of a teenager. It
took a while before it came to the attention of the authorities.
Well at the very least it was quick.

If it's the same video, it's been circulating the Internet for quite
some time. My sister does the fish forums and saw that video or one
similar a long time ago... it's so cruel. Karma will get them.
If you are looking for some fun rat videos, I have a few on there, just
look up "jorats"

The internet, on a whole, brings out the best and the worst. All I
can suggest is that you contact YouTube and try to get it removed.
However, like others have mentioned, it will still manage to work it's
way around the internet regardless.
Some people are just nasty and malicious, and there is not much that
people can do about it. I personally just avoid situations where I
think I would be upset by viewing them.
I wish that I could subscribe to the Karma thought, but I just don't
think that people do get what is coming to them. I keep hoping it is
the case, though.

I have found that to avoid all of the snake, frog and other vicious
anti-rat videos, do a search for "pet rats", using the quotes. I haven't
found a video yet of anybody doing anything cruel to their pets. There are a
lot of cruel, nasty people in the world that like to see small, innocent
creatures suffer. They should be fed live to a crocodile or maybe dropped in
a large tub with a few hungry pirhanas (maybe pull them back out after a
couple of nibbles just so they get an idea of what it would be like).

I have got to the stage now where nothing surprises me anymore about the
cruelty and downright evilness of some people, not just in mistreating
animals but their fellow humans too. I really do hope they all get their
just rewards one day.
These vile people should have done to them what they do to poor defenseless
creatures, so yeah, in this case they should be dangled over hungry
shark/crocodile or piranha infested waters and slowly lowered in for them to
make a tasty snack.

RL I could think of something finger shaped that
would be more appropriate...but then again I can
be as nasty as a sow protecting piglets at times.

I've had a couple of run-ins with you tube. One of them was labelled as
a "sesame street" video but was actually a gang beating a man with a
fire extinguisher.
Took two weeks for youtube to remove it, even though it is clearly
against their own terms and conditions.
Running a sufficient number of moderators that would be able to check
every video flagged would be prohibitively expensive - so I guess
they're just not bothering.
My suggestion would be contact your MP via www.writetothem.com if you
live in the UK, or contact your elected representative where ever you are!

My boyfriend buys frozen pinkie mice for his fish. I said that was
nonsense. Where in the wild are fish going to eat pinkie mice?!
I can see feeding snakes live animals, but even that is shakey
territory for me. I understand the logic, but I don't really like it.
You want to feed your fish crickets, have at it. Just make sure none
of them escape. I had a cricket in my room once for WEEKS. THAT was
MORE annoying than my mice slamming their glass water tube against the
aquarium in the middle of the night to let me know they need more
water, or the tube taken away for the night (they like to purposely
drain it I think. I filled it up 3 times one night before I just took
it away. Cute lil Bastards...)
