Mandie @k@ Zepherous - 20 Aug 2007 05:04 GMT Any recomendations on a cage for 3 young boys. I eventually plan to have them live in the superpet deluxe ferret home with Art and Tar. Right now they are in a Ferplast Mary cage, but it is too small as there is only the one level. I love the look of the Ferplast furet tower, but the spacing on the bars is 1.7cm and the boys are 8, 9 and 12 weeks old so they would go walkies. They really need more room as their scrapping is quite rough so it would be good for them to have more space to chill.

jennjenn84 - 20 Aug 2007 06:17 GMT How much are you willing or wanting to spend? If you already have a cage and the bars are just too far apart you could get screen mesh from any hardware store or any store that sells everything (we call it walmart here in the US). Its easy to put on and keeps them from getting out, while not making your cage look like crap. Its also really inexpensive. If you are wanting to buy a new cage, and money is not an issue then I would recommend either

I would also suggest E-Bay, Amazon.com, or other online sites. But, if its just temporary and you already have one that might work but the bars are spaced too far i highly suggest the wire. i did it for the first few months, and it worked great, and only cost me 5-6 bucks.

Not too worried about price, I was saving to build a new PC, but I don't need a new PC that badly. The big cage I have is where Art and Tar are right now, they were about 6 months old before they didn't escape, the bars on that are 2cm. The one I seen with the bars set at 1.7 is only 3mm smaller and with the wee guys being so young I am sure they would get out. Especially Behn as he is small and gets into everything. I like the look of the rat mansion, but can not see any in the uk:-(
jennjenn84 - 20 Aug 2007 06:22 GMT Also, if they are 1.7 cm, they shouldnt be able to fit... at least i dont think so. Are you sure they will get out? I'd even suggest putting them in that cage and seeing if they can get out. Though, the conversion might be wrong... my bars are .5 of an inch, but I'm not sure what that equals out to.

After much searching and reading online I decided against the cage I seen first on ebay as it is similar to this one: http://www.fancy-rats.co.uk/resources/productreviews/review.php?c=4&p=28 the reviews are really bad, and the weight of the cage concerns me as well.
So I have decided to get the furet tower after all, it won't be long before Behn is big enough not to escape from it and I thought it may be a good time to introduce them to Art and Tar, there is room for all 5 and it will be new to all of them. If the intros go well then they can all live in the tower, if not Art and Tar still have their big cage. Here are the reviews of the tower furet xl which is like half of the tower. http://www.fancy-rats.co.uk/resources/productreviews/review.php?page=4&order=new est&c=4&p=36 Off to hack branches from my friends apple tree at the weekend :-)

They got a pet shop right across the street from where you suck cock for crack.

I highly recommend Martins cages but I'm unsure of shipping to the UK. It's www.martinscages.com These cages are wonderful and perfect for rats of all ages. For three rats, I'd recommend the R685 or the R680.

Thanks for the recomendation, I had a look and the cages are brilliant, only problem is they use Fedex, the last time I had a delivery from Fedex it took ages to arrive. I had a look around for similar cages in the UK and came accross this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330155986001&ssPageNam e=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=014 and quick delivery. I haven't bought it yet as I thought I'd get a second opinion :-) It's only for a couple of months or so until they are big enough for the big cage. There's plenty of room for them to have toys and get away from each other if they want peace. And room for a litter pan in the corner, I'm cleaning their cage and changing their bedding nightly right now as they have towels in the cage and no litter pan.

How about you get off your fat a.s, go to a pet store, look at the cages and make an educated decision.

1) Dan is troll and I've blocked him why doesn't everyone else?
2) While a troll as such it was just little blunter than I normally would say it. ;^)
I'm ratless these days and it's going to be a while before I acquire anymore. I just couldn't take it right now.
