Oops, Christmas [on my shoulder] just bit Smokeys [in my lap] ear.
Cheeky rat. Should have seen the look Smokey gave Chrissy.

LOL, yep. Our cats, if they go to close to the rat cage, will lose a piece
of themselves, giggle.
I even had one rat who would sneak up behind our cockatiel and steal his
tail feathers,

I was just having this fight with my sister since I was thinking about
bringing my boys to my parents house with me. Their cats have all these
little mouse toys, and Bob, the girl cat, is known to rip off the tails of
the mice, and throw them under the stove in what they call the 'GI-Joe' camp.
I told her that while Bob might think about that, she wouldnt dare try
because my rats are the size of her head. She wouldnt have a clue what to do
with them. She would just stair at them.
I didnt bring them though, they are safer and happier with Amanda and Liz.
Its better this way, even though I'll miss them like crazy.

Thankfully Smokey still has her ear in one piece. I think Christmas
was 'testing for freshness' :p
I would not have though a rat would willingly get that close to a cat
though...oh well...just goes to show that not all animals are mortal
enemies.

Oh my... rats are NOT afraid of cats. I have pictures of cats and rats
playing and cuddling.

Those photos amazing :-)
I used to have a staffordshire bull terrier (Blaze) who would lie on the
couch, share treats and be walked over by my rats.

I second that. I *love* the one of the cat using the ratty as a
pillow. So cute.
Maybe my cats aren't looking at the rats as 'dinner' but 'friend'
then ;)

My boys are justifiably scared of the Cats. They eyeball the boys when
they are out and about and I swear they are working out wether they
would be best with tomato sauce or not!!

I'm sure I've seen the photo "Lovie WB" somewhere else. I think it was
cute overload.
How did you get them so friendly? There's no way I'd trust my cats.

LOL!
I remember once, when I wasn't so experienced with rats, I had taken my
three big boys out and left the room for second, then I heard my cat
meowing and ran with horror. I was sure I would find the rats dead. What
I found made me laugh so much,my cat was running in circles with three
rats hot on her tail. :)

When I had a house rabbit (Sunny), he had run of the dining room and
study while the rats had the living room. Sunny sneaked into the
living room one day and sniffed at the rat cage. Crackers (the rat)
foofed up and quite aggressively nipped the rabbit on the nose. No
damage was done, but it was so funny seeing this tiny fluffed up rat
going after a big rabbit.
