Hiya,

I was just reading about itchy rats, and after reading numerous pages,
was wondering what amount of scratching is 'normal' - and what is
termed 'excessive.'

I think the cratching of every thing in my place would come under
'normal,' but well...better safe than sorry eh?

cheers,
M&m

My boys will be busy doing something and stop and immediately start to
scratch then carry on with what they were doing and then frantically
start to scratch again... to me thats a sure sign of mites.  If their
scratching interupts what they are doing... I hope this makes sense?

Regards Kate, Mater and Silber

yes, it does, thanks. I am now reminded of the tick infestation the
cats had last summer...what fun.

Another sign of buggies, check for scabs. 99% of the time, rats with
scabs will have buggies.
