What do your ratties love to eat as food? (not treat) My guys LOVE pasta with a spinach/ricotta/pecorino stir through sauce. That is followed closely by the 'asian style salad' mix.

Bunni - 07 Sep 2007 02:58 GMT My girls go crazy over anything BBQ. I like to make this sweet honey BBQ and they love to lick it like its chocolate. ^__^
Lynn "kitty" - 07 Sep 2007 03:34 GMT Chicken and potatoes, that and pasta.

I wouldn't eat them, so I haven't bought any human cereal for them like that. I put my muesli in their dry mix, and have tried weetbix, which they don't seem to like.

jennjenn84 - 12 Sep 2007 05:58 GMT A lot of the basic foods I give them that they love is baby food, frozen peas, frozen corn, peanuts, bread, and hot dogs (though hot dogs are not a daily, or weekly thing... they are only once and a while).

What sort of baby food? Like meat and vege stuff, or 'sweets'? I have a "pear, rice and mango pudding" one for mine here. Its about the only way they eat rice.

jennjenn84 - 23 Sep 2007 07:40 GMT The types of baby foods vary. Actually they have probably 15 different 'flavors' varying from fruits (mango, papia (i cant spell), apples, bananas), veggies (brocoli, squash), and other light colored foods such as chicken and rice flavored, mac and cheese. Both my rats are light colored except for some small markings, and when they eat any colored foods you can really see it since they tend to eat with their fingers. Id like to try other kinds, but I really just cant since they will get super dirty. I am trying to stay away from the fruits since I want them to be healthy... but its so hard to find real foods in baby food without having a lot of color.
perigrine - 23 Sep 2007 07:44 GMT Oh, sounds like you guys have more flavors than we do.

You can also make the treat more fun by stringing them up in the cage so your ratties have to climb to reach them.
