I am trying to figure out what is going on with my boys.  All my rats have
done this, so I'm guessing its normal... but I'd like your opinion about it.
Sometimes when I pick them up, or I'm cuddling them they seem to shiver.  Its
like how you and I would when we are cold.  Do your rats do this, and if they
do and you know, why do they do that?  I dont mind, but I am just trying to
figure out if they are scared, cold, hot, annoyed?  I dont think they are
scared, or annoyed because usually we are just cudding... it just doesnt make
any sense to me!  Thanks guys.

I've not had my boys doing that, but that probably means mine are the
unusual ones,
they don't do anything else that's "normal" all stone mad (in the nicest
possible way :-)

My lot do it too. The boys not as much as the girls. I always put it down to
nervousness, which is why I don't think the boys have done it much - they've
known me longer. That said, Christmas is definately more trembly than the
little girls - age? She is almost two (and set in her ways?) The boys have
been getting shoulder rides since they were big enough to hang on. It always
eases up, and some times none do it.

Its called Bruxing, and is normally a good sign, they do it when they
are happy. You might also see something called boggling as well, which
happens simultaneously with Bruxing, and the eye's pulsate and look as
if they are about to pop out.

You sound like you have a happy bunch of Ratties there. :)
