Hi Group,

I've been on the waiting list a long time and I've finally got to the top -
the pair of bucks I've been waiting for are six weeks old on Thursday, and
I'm really looking forward to it. Time to re-assemble the old cage,
methinks :-)

Woo-hoo! Time also to take some photo's I hope :) Are these fellows
from a good breeder, and hence the long waiting list?

Well I'm certainly hoping so :-) They're from Laura Dobson, who runs
Carreg Rats <http://www.carregrats.co.uk/> .

If you click Enter, then Current Litters, then the big picture at the top
with the handful of babies, you'll get to a page titled "Eepers as they
grow..." .

Under where it says "5 weeks old - Bucks" (about half-way down the page),
the two I'm getting are the top one and the third from the top - Laura
sent me the photos, and I've fixed the light levels but haven't got round
to putting them online or anything.

I did say that I didn't really mind what they looked like, but when I saw
the photos of them I thought they were absolutely beautiful. I don't
really care about slightly crinkly ears or a not-quite-right head - it's
hard to tell what they'll look like as adults from the photos, but
obviously she'd keep any particularly good-looking rats from a breeder's
point of view, I should think. I don't care! At the very least, this way
I know where the babies have come from and I know how old they are. :-) I
can't wait to meet them now.

Yes,I'm very excited. My boyfriend is, too, though he's trying to hide it
:-) I posted a link in my reply to Dewi to the breeder's site, where she
has pictures of the litter, including my two (Watson and Crick!)

:-) I don't know what roles rats played in Watson and Crick's discoveries,
but I do know that they both had a rather rattish look about them.

I suspect lab rats played a fairly large part in all their DNA studies, and
you are right the two men certainly have a ratty look to them, lol!
