Cecily is usually quite easy to catch when she is out of her cage; Julie
tends to duck back under the bed/into a drawer at the last minute. But
oddly enough, if I catch Cecily first, hold her in one hand, and bring
her down towards Julie's face, I can usually pick Julie up with my free
hand without any trouble.
I don't know if it's the idea of a flying rat, the half-perceived
approach of an unknown and potentially dangerous animal, the reassurance
of a familiar set of whiskers, or just the sheer distraction of it all
that foxes her!

That is wonderful. Love it.
In our house, I can get an opposite reaction. I have 6 cats, and if I want
to see them run away, all I have to do is show them a rat. Those silly cats
are so afraid...giggle.
Thank you for your wonderful story, Love it!
