My ratties do sort of a hiccupping thing when I pet them.  They aren't
grinding their teeth, but their bodies sort of jerk in a rhythmic way.  It
seems to be something they do when they are content.  Anyone know the name
of this?

Bruxing is when they grind their teeth. I haven't seen our rats hiccup
during that.
However, if we wake them up in the middle of the day, almost all of them
will start hiccuping.  We call them "ratcups."

Maybe someone else knows more.
