My little Scooter is close to the end I think. I have noticed he has stopped
eating, drinking, and although he hasn't actually lost any weight when I
picked him up last time he seemed empty, as in like he was still big but no
longer there. He doesn't respond to anything. I know a lot of people will
say to take him to the vet, but I feel its better to let him go peacefully.
He is almost 2 and has been terrorized by my kittens for the last 5 months.
I know he is unhappy in his life... any ideas on what I can do in the mean
time to make him more comfortable?
Well, I spoke to late. Scoot passed tonight. I put him in his favorite
place, locked the cats away and let him out one last time. He didnt walk
around, but he seemed happy... I put him back in the cage on his bed and he
passed shortly after.. Its sad, but he is in a better place...

Sorry to hear about your losing your little buddy. They're in our lives
such a short time, but we can take comfort in the idea that while they
were with us, we gave them the best life a rat can know.

I'm so sorry, I really feel for you. I lost Nibbles, one of my girls a few
weeks ago.
