Can anyone recommend or point me in the right direction of any insurers that
do pet insurance for rats?

Thanks

I am guessing your from the UK.

http://www.exoticdirect.co.uk/

I have used them for the past 3 years now, claimed a couple of times for vet
treatment and they processed the claim without any problems.  My vet even
done it all for me, I requested the forms from them over the phone, passed
it to the vet after treatment and that was it.

I highly recommend Exotic Direct too. When Noa had his abscess and was
referred to a specialist (and i use the term lightly)they were really
helpful and said any costs incurred in his treatment would be covered except
for travel costs. The treatment eventually cost nearly one thousand pounds
which they paid to the vet immediately.I didn't have to do anything except
fill in a simple form and all the work was done between the vet and them.It
was really easy.

I also recommend them but unfortunately, I don't have cover with them. With
my clan, it's cheaper to pay the bills rather than the premium! 54 rats
works out to a premium of £2300!!

You people are so lucky sometimes. We poor septics are stuck without
such excellent companies. The ones I've found seem to only care for
dogs, cats SOME birds and livestock but ratties? Not that I've found,
but I've only seriously looked for a day or so.

p.s. They'll even ocver snakes but rats? No!

Just had a sneaky thought, when you buy your rats, make sure they all
look alike, then you'll only have to insure one of them....hehehe

Indeed I do... Picked up that self-depreciating habit from some fine
limeys in Rec.motorcycle.uk WARNING if you go there remember to let
nothing offend you and wear your flame retardant underware!

Yes, about 12 hours after I posted I found them. I can't get the boys
covered yet until I've had them 60 days.

Implying? I figured only the british would get the reference. The
scots and welsh probablly call us worse. ;^)

Thanks to everyone for your advice and input the only one I could find here
in the UK  was Exotic Direct, which supports advice and comments so far.
