What kind of litter do you guys usually use in the litter pan?
Sam and Lester seem to enjoy kicking theirs around...around their pan and
tossing it out some also.
Is there a certain kind that is best for ratties? What about the granule
paper stuff as opposed to the looser packed paper or Aspen?
Any input would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Jamie

It really does take time for the rat to get the hang of it. In litter pans,
you can use Yesterday's News (recycled paper kitty litter) but I use Sweat
Scoops which allows me to scoop out the poop. Yep, my boys like to throw it
around too, so it's extra cleaning for me.
You could try aspen, but you may find the rats choosing to sleep in it
rather than poop in it, or hey, do both. lol
In some of my cages I simply line the litter pan with newspaper or paper
towels.
