For some unknown reason Baba is removing all the nice food from the bowl in her
cage, abseiling down from the wardrobe (the rope's back) sprinting across the
floor, climbing onto my bed and hiding everything under my pillow.  Are these
presents for me?  Why hasn't she worked out that her food stashes disappear
every time I go to bed?

On the plus side she's perfected two ways to get past the rat proofing, has
discovered a third and is working on a fouth.  Her jumping is also getting
better....

oh, and I've just found a towel with loads of little holes chewed through it.
Butterflies apparently:

me> Grrr rat - look what you've done!

Rat> 'looks like moths to me guv'

Me> But why would a moth put chocolate drops in the middle of the towel?

Rat> 'Hmm, must've been butterflies - they like sweet stuff'

The cheeky little blighter.

I love your rat tales - always make me chuckle.  You have one very smart rat
there I'm afraid...not at all stupid :o)

Your ratty is giving you presents.  Baba loves you very very much.  Food
really is the only thing she can give you to show that she loves you in her
own way.

You've got one incredible rat.  She sounds extremely trainable.  You could
train her to do some really cool tricks and she would just love all that
attention from you.

I've been thinking of using clicker training for my ratsies to find out if
they can respond as well as dogs do.
