I have discovered the perfect thing for disguising antibiotics in.  Louie
has been on the baytril/doxycycline combination for a couple of weeks now
for another myco flare up and I've had a bit of a nightmare trying to get
his meds down him.  Doxycycline is an antibiotic that can't be mixed with
dairy products, so any food I've tried has to be dairy free.  His favourite
veggies didn't seem to disguise the antibiotics well cos he kept leaving
those so I tried some soya products - soya chocolate dessert and soya
yoghurt was a success for a couple of days, but then Louie went off those.
I thought I would try making some porridge up for him with some soya milk
and organic oatmeal I have.  I added a bit of honey and sugar and.... Louie
can't get enough of it.  He's been having it since last Thursday and hasn't
gone off it - he wallops it down as soon as he gets it and licks the dish
dry.  I'm chuffed to bits as there are no more worries about getting his
medication down him (I know I could always syringe them straight into his
mouth, but rats so hate that don't they and I hate putting them through it,
anyway I usually end up missing and getting the whole thing down my top!).
My other rats love porridge too, when Louie's had his bit with the meds in,
the other two get their own bowl too.

Anybody else tried this?
