It sure is Joanne,

I looked into settings and tools and stuff and I think I may have fixed
it... using Rules?  I have blocked the actual domains that these are coming
from so hopefully that will clear some if it out. Friday here and I have to
work tonight..:(( I hadn't planned on it, I was more looking foward to
blobbing out with some Ratties and a good movie...GRRRR  Oh well as a treat
we are going to see Shrek 2 tomorrow night..(sadly the Rats will have to
stay home)..LOL  Have a good weekend.:)

Regards Kate

Well, Rat's just love Spam - I'm sure they'd eat it all up for you. Mind
you, Fat and Protein content are probably a little too high...

I'm not seeing any spam using blueyonder's news server, I think they filter
obvious ones out from the source feed, here's a few rules you can add to the
list of blocked senders:
in outlook express, go to tools>message rules>news.
You will see a double box, the upper deals with spam, the lower one what to
do when it's detected.
in the upper box, you will see 'where the message is on a particular
group' - put a tick in this and choose whichever groups you want to apply it
to from the popup list.

in the box below it is 'if the subject contains specific words' - tick this
and add the words, one by one which you think may appear in spam messages,
'nude' is a favourite, but not practical if you frequent adult groups!
also Britney, sunbathing, topless, etc etc  - when you've put in whatever
words you want to block, click ok.

Then in the lower box, click 'delete' - this way, if anyone posts a topic in
here with your chosen spam filtered words in the title, your news reader
will not display them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are seeing many spam posts from the same person, simply open one, go
to message>block sender, you will never see another post from that person
again.
Thanks a lot for that...:)  Sadly most of the Spam I was getting was from
Blueyonder.co.uk...?  LOL... never mind I have gotten rid of that one at
least..:)  Thanks for your help.
I'm not getting any spam using the free newserver news. individual.net.
