I've just had a delivery of new corals for my tank.  it wasn't until I had
the yellow polyps in place and opened that I noticed an alien in our midst.
there on the edge was a small 20mm wide anemone.  it's not astipsia as I've
had to deal with them before but I'm worried that it might be a pest one
that marc levenson told us about.  the photo and description are of a green
tipped anemone but mine is a solid brown colour and does seem to have
slightly bulbous tentacles like his description.
has anyone else fell in with a pest anemone like this before and how did you
eradicate it.

It's difficult to say w/o a picture. But it could be a mojano anemone. I
purposely put these in my FOWLR tank. Because they are cool looking & can't
do any harm in a FO tank.Do a search on mojanos. Here is a photo taken by

Most likely you are dealing with a "colony" anomone. I had one of these,
thought is was a baby BTA but it multiplied (not as fast as aptasia but
enough to be a pest). I would get rid of it as soon as possible. After I had
a ton of these these they were difficult ot get rid of.
