Was wondering if any one can give me an opinion on witch bulbs would
give a better look I've been using the 14k hamilton for awhile
now because the 10k ones are just way to yellow but I would like to get
more of a crisp white/blue look then the 14 k's give me. Have tried the
12 k's and like them but have trouble getting them to burn consistently
with the same light output.  Was wondering if any one has used the
10000K Venture MH, i've read they burn with a 13k appearance.  Can
someone please comment on this also what's is ideal life on theses
bulbs i change the hamiltons after about 8 months or i start to get
bad algae booms until i change them guess the spectrum goes bad about that
time
thx
for all input

Umm, the 10k are not yellow. Your water might be, but the
light is not.

Ha ! Ha ! That is funny ! Try some GAC (Carbon) in a filtersock, to
see whether the water clears. Change it after 1 month, if it works.

Hi wayne

first off i thank you for your comments but it seems you don't
have the comprehension of the question, or the first hand knowledge
of using 10000K Venture MH bulbs which was the point asked.  Also
just for future info some 10K bulbs do burn with a yellow look to them
you can go here to see a color comparison that some one has done
http://www.coralreefecosystems.com/ltg_bulb_color.htm or you can
call Hamilton tech at 1-800-447-9797 and ask them why their bulbs look
yellow and they will tell you that their 10K bulbs will look yellow
for the first 100 hours a burn in time so to speak I have found even
after the 100 hours they still have a yellow look to them just not as
bad as when they are new that is why i went to the 14K hamiltons, and
was asking about the Venture MH bulbs.
So in the future instead of making false statements, or not fully
comprehending a question please keep your useless thoughts to yourself
and I'm really glad I don't do any shopping at WaynesPets.com if this
is the extent of your knowledge and feel sorry for those who do.
But! thanks for your effort

LOL you are obviously ignorant of what the "k" stands for.

And he was refering to the 10 k hamilton bulbs.

Learn how to read.

Also I have been using the hamilton 10k bulbs for years,
and have never had any problem with them being yellow.
