I inherited a reef tank from a neighbor that moved away. I have never owned
a fish tank, so I am trying to learn quickly.

the live rock sprouted an interesting pink flower looking thing.

I have photo, but I dont know if this is the proper place to post it.

To post Pics... goto a site such as www.photobucket.com
then post the URL.. Dont use a flash...it glares the pics of a tank.
First thing u need to do is get a book on reef tanks.. READ IT.. when you're
done READ it again.

Well you sure picked a  trashed and trolled group to try and learn
anything in., Its a one man show run by Wayne sallee the lady boy
lover. The resident lady boy or transexual is none other than Pszemol.
The rest nhere are mostly meatheads without a clue. Go to a real forum
with images and folks that can and will answer your posts and not be
bothered by trolls like CArol Gulley or manipulated by Wayne Sallee
in  his struggle to  be a wanna be moderator ina non moderated
trashed  up group.  No I have no vested interests in the other
gorups.ONly info here is what waynee Sallee sells in his LFS and we
all know who screwed up and the lies LFS usually tell and Wayne old
boy is no exception. Just llok at the posts here and see the trash and
ask yurself is this where I want to learn somehting from these
folks....nope not me, SW and reef tanks are just to much$$$$ to take
idiots advice on in a non discript forum as this is.

Might I suggest reefcentral.com
or creaativereefing.com
or saltwaterfish.com

all very good knowedgeable forums easy to gain access to and very
friendly folks.
