Which is the price ladder when it comes to coral?

Some tell me red mushrooms are on the top while other say purple.

I saw a ricordea at saltwaterfish.com for $7.99,  but in the LFS the want up
to $30 for a single colored polyp.

Any tips on what to buy and where to buy it?

I've had very good luck with saltwaterfish.com, and I trust them not to
ship my contagious fish although I still quarantine.  They also provide
a 15 day warranty and directions on how to acclimate your specimen.

Ebay is also a good spot for coral.  If you find somebody reasonably
local, then they can ship priority mail and you can avoid the overnight
fees.

I'm not very happy with my LFS.  They just push volume and couldn't care
less of the specimen lives, dies, or infects your tank with parasites.
I've also gotten much misleading advice from such stores.  Buyer beware
and never take advice verbatim.

How about frag clubs?  I see some of them online.
Any experience on trading coral?

Not yet.  I've seen them too.  Although I'm just starting to get into
corals.

I'd be very careful to QT everything.  I hear that flatworms often piggy
back on coral frags.

Yea, but flat worms rarely harm anything other than
hair algae, unless you put a chemical in to kill
them all off at once.
