Where does he sleep? I've heard that it's easy to catch a sleeping
fish, but I've never tried it.
So, when you stumble in from the pub on Friday night, give it a good
Irish try!

in between rocks. we've tried feeding out of a net but rabbits are really
fast. he went in the trap once and escaped. i think that's why he won't go
back in.

Just be brave, and catch him with your hand, I've
done it. :-)
I used to catch lion fish with my hands.
After a while they will get used to eating out of
the net, and will be easy to catch.

I hope you're joking. The rabbit fish has toxic dorsal fins.

Yep, they have venomous fins, and yes I was joking.
I did however catch one with my bare hands. And I
used to catch lionfish with my bare hands. But I
don't have the store with all those fish to play
with anymore. :-)

Did you ever get hurt doing that?
It doesnt sound a wise choice.

I got stung by the rabbit fish just enough to feel a
little venom.
I've never been stung by the lion fish.
Other store owners at the wholesalers would crack me
up when I saw them trying to catch a leaf fish in a
tiny divided section with a small net. I'd just tell
them "reach in and catch them with your hand". They
wouldn't do it. Too afraid of getting stung. I
always used my hand with them, and never got stung
by them.

I believe developing an allergy is your biggest risk. Just treat with
hot water for 20 minutes if you are stung.
Just my opinion.

I tried to catch the small one sleeping. It didn't work. He took off like he
was wide awake. I've still got the trap up.

You're right. The rabbit in my other tank would be easy to catch. The big
rabbit sleeps between rocks :(
I'm going to starve it until it has to eat.

The only fish I've seen to be easy to catch while sleep is the Clownfish,
especially if you have a deep tank.
The get closer to the surface at night.
