Hi,
Our tank at work (30x15x12) is approx 2wks old, houses 2 goldfish and 2
black moors, heated at 20c and has a fluval 2+ filter.

The water never really became crystal clear from the outset so i decided to
change the filter media (i thought maye it was overloaded after filtering
out all the crud from the first fill) and like a plank i changed both
sponges. Doh!
Since then the problem has got worse, the tank is like pea soup.
I have now put the wool filter in with the sponges and am going to change
some of the water daily, im thinking about 25%, can i be confident this
problem will sort itself out or is there more i should be doing?
Thanks
Rick

It's quite normal for a new tank to go cloudy - due to a bacterial
bloom.  Are you checking the water? Test for Ammonia and Nitrite and
stop feeding.  Don't clean out or change the sponges just yet - they
need time to be colonised with bacteria (good bacteria!)  You can use
a product called Filter Aid to help clear the water but I would use a
bacterial start-up culture - ask you're local shop.
