What sort of fish is he?
One of my tetra's went like this, sadly he was a lost cause. Whip him out an
put him in quarantine and get some "stuff" from the fish shop.

A couple of my fish have developed 90 degree bends in their spine,
the day before they died. No other symptoms, no other fish sick.
Suggest you take him out and kill him humanely (pop him in a
plastic bag between two bits of damp newspaper, take a hammer
to the bag, pop in bin).
If you can't face that at least quarantine him - if you don't
have a separate tank use a breeding net cage in the tank. Won't
stop him infecting the others if he's got something contagious,
but it will stop them picking on him and also getting sick from
cannibalising him once he's gone.
Sorry to be so morbid.

Fish TB causes this. All fish seem to carry, they develop symptoms when
their immune system is depressed, which is why it seems to effect only a
one or two fish at a time.
You are correct in euthanasia being the only cure once they have it. It
can be prevented by ensuring your fish are in good condition all the time.

Thanks for telling me that, didn't know.

Makes sense. Mine happened in an ailing betta at the end of his
life and in a tetra when the tank had been compromised.
