Raising Fry

yesterday my albino corydoras unexpectedley spawned, I haven't actually been
trying to breed them.

I have moved the eggs into a second (empty) tank, this tank has been well
matured and was about to be re-stocked.

The problem I have is that it is filtered by a Fluval 2+ internal filter
which creates quite a current. I'm worried that if the eggs hatch the fry
wont be able to survive the current. People have recomended air powered foam
filters but obviously if I buy one it will take time to mature.

I have just (today) removed an internal filter from another tank in favour
of an external, is there any way in which I could use the mature foam from
that to filter my "spawning" tank?

Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks

Ian

Drop the fluval into a stocking leaving just the outlet open. It will still
work but be fry proof.

Ian

your Corydoras fry do not need a seeded filer at this stage. I raise my Cory
fry for the first two weeks in a small tupperware type container. After the
first week I may add a small airstone set to a very low bubble rate however
even this is not required as you should be doing partial water changes about
3 times a day, usually an hour or so after feeding. Depending on the size of
the tank you moved the eggs into you should be fine with just an air stone.
I currently have 60 brone Cory fry and a 5 gallon tank. I added a small ATI
sponge filter when they were about 3 weeks old.
