Are my heaters broken or can they fixed?

Have two 150W Interpet heaters in my tank.

I have noticed a steady increase in temperature ofver the last few weeks
which is bordering on 80F

I have turned down the knob on the top of the heaters to reduce the temp at
which the heater activates yet there seems little difference. The temps
indicated on the heaters bear no reflection to the actual temp of the water.

Is there some way to "reset" these heaters or should I chuck 'em and get new
ones...If so looking for recommendations

Ta

What is the ambient temperature in you room and how much heat are your
lights giving out...??

If you think it is the lights - try leaving them off and see what effect it
has....

Thanks for the advice.

Have two 150W Visi-Therms installed and the temp is now down to 77F.

Reassuringly, the Visi have a 5 year guarantee. Can't remember what the
Interpets have but  they are both in the bin after approx 18 months use.
