Male bristlenose plecos has the "bristles" not only across their lip
(like some females), but also up the center of their face (females
don't).

Males bacome territorial and aggressive toward eachother, but I have
never seen females do this............ Frank

My bristlnose is definitely male but I don't know about my royal, common or
banjo. I'm a little worried that if I add a female bristlnose, it might
instigate aggression between the various species of plecs, yet at the same
time, I'd love to breed from my male
