Since last Saturday when we got flooded the mosquitoes are awful.  The worst
I've seen them in years.  It's so bad the dogs go out and within a minute or
two you can see them on Barney around his face.  The easiest target with all
the fur he has everywhere else.

Tonight when he came in I hurriedly wiped away at least 6 of them.  I also
noticed he as a lump under the skin between the skin and upper teeth.  Mike
says he hasn't been sticking his nose under the fence and didn't see that he
got stung ( the last lump was from a cut from the wire fence)  I'm wondering
if anyone has had this kind of reaction from mosquito bites?  It doesn't
seem to hurt when I examine it closely where when he had the last lump it
definitely hurt so I don't think it's any type of infection.

He takes Benedryl for mast cell cancer and I'm going to increase it to 3 a
day just incase it is a sting or bite of some sort.  I'm hoping that's all
it is.  Anyway if it's bigger in the morning I'll call the orthopedic vet
who has Saturday hours and take him in for a biopsy.

Mosquito bites show up well on my Boxer, with his short hair.  Looks just
like a mosquito bite on a person.  But they don't seem to make him itch,
like they do on me.
