Last Tuesday my 9 month old Jack Russell was spayed. She had been in heat
mid August to September, with what seemed like a mild false pregnancy
shortly thereafter.
Her incision looks great but just overnight I noticed her glands were
swelling and she is producing milk. I started warm packing her belly and
called the vet this morning. He said it's completely normal.
So, I'm not worried about her but I'm wondering just how normal this is.
I've worked for vets for 15 years and this is a first for me - an unbred
female out of heat and false pregnancy, producing milk after a spay, like
it's going out of style. Thanks!

sounds like she doesn't want to give up her femininity.

Sounds like she doesn't want to give up her femininity. Quite a gal.

With three other big dog male/n dogs to prance around, I don't think that
could ever happen. ;)
