Hello
My 7 month old pup swallowed some pine needles today. (He likes to go after
them when I try to clean them up) Approximately 5 minutes after he swallowed
them, he vomitted. (it was green) So far, he has been eating and drinking
fine and passing stool just fine as well. Is there something I should look
for over the next few hours?

Trust me, I learned a lesson about the pine needles. Next year it's
artificial. Since it's only me, it's hard to keep him away while I am trying
to clean them up.

Thank you in advance for your help and advice.

Since no one else has replied:
I suspect he will throw them up whenever he swallows
them. I wouldn't worry unless he actually starts acting
sick. Call a vet, if you have one in the phone book that
is opened at this time of year. (Maybe an emergency
animal hosptal.) See what they have to say.

I would think that if he vomited that quickly he could not have digested
them.  If vomiting, diarrhea or pain is evident, I would be concerned, but
that doesn't seem to be the case.

Hi,
Thank you for responding. It doesn't seem he's in pain and he's being his
normal self. I was surprised he vomitted rather quickly but I guess that's
better than digesting them.

Thanks again and have a great holiday

He'll be fine, especially since he vomited.   I doubt if pine needles would
resist breakdown by stomach acids anyway.  I've had puppies eat them before.
Never did them any harm.
