Are TradeWinds Tape Worm Tabs for cats (23 mg Praziquantel), FDA
approved for OTC sales? A secretary at the vet's office said OTC
Praziquantel was illegal. I searched on Google and it appears that
these tape worm tabs are legal but I want to be 100% sure. I also
looked on the FDA website but it's not listed which could just mean
that they haven't updated their site.

Any info on these tablets would be greatly appreciated.

Check out this link...hard to read but you can find where it's amending the
use of praziquantel in cats to be OTC.

I know that I've got praziquantel at the clinic that is NOT labeled with an
FDA warning, i.e. is it not considered prescription. Not sure if it's the
cat or the dog stuff -- it was the newest stuff we got in, so I know there
have been some changes with praziquantel and prescription status.
