Our 15 year old male cat has been succesfully battling
cholangiohepatis, and off and on diabetes for over two years and now
apparantly has pancreatitis as well. His liver numbers are actually
improving over the past few months, but he is decidedly going down hill
in overall demeanor, weight loss etc. He is on 25 mg cyclosporine,
prednisone (recently increased dosage to 10 mg twice a day for four
days, then down to 5 twice a day) , ursodiol and baytril, has been
steadily losing weight for tree months (down 1 kg in that time)  His
appetite is resasonable, not voracious, but we do make sure he eats a
good amount of high quality food every day. We were hoping the
increased dosage of prednisone would turn him around, get him to put
some weight back on, but after several days on the increased dosage,
he's still losing weight, is pretty much skin and bones, seems slightly
punk, has started hiding from us (I can't blame him with all the pills
we stuff down his throat.)
Any ideas of what might be going on with Buddy would be very much
appreciated. Thanks. Susan C.
