Hello,
my friend's cat has small nodes spreading. Her vet took them away (2
times already) and sent them for analyze. They think it is "GIANT CELL
TUMOR OF SOFT PARTS". Today and after less than a month, the nodes are
back, slowly growing and spreading once again.
Help! The cat is only 6 years old. The vets (here in Sweden) say
there's no treatment? Not even chemotherapy would help for that kind
of tumors. Is there anything to try?
Thank you for any help or information!!!

It's sad to say but the vet knows best and animal's with illness don't
understand treatment. We recently put a Lab down with a similar situation
and he was just 8. Give him/her lots and love and quality time and when
he/she cannot enjoy life do the best thing for you friend. It's difficult,
but worse to see your pet suffer. I am sorry for your saddness.

I doubt there is much that can be done. The only treatment that I know of
for giant cell tumors is when they usually involve limbs and it means
amputation. I have a cat that had a fast growing giant cell tumor of the
rear leg. Fortunately amputation seems to have gotten it all since it's
been over 4 years now since the surgery. I wish I could give you some good
news all I can say is keep them comfortable and love them and when the
quality of life is no more do the right thing and give her peace.
