If it's not "maiotic" then what is it?

My adult mix breed (maybe Spaniel/Basset or Corgi) has longish ears
with heavy long fur. In the summer we have to watch his ears carefully;
at the first sign of darker pink I'll use an ear wash that stops any
problems but once a year or so it escellates into a raging red ear
infection. Usually only happens in one ear.

I have a tiny bottle of drops I've been using since 2003; usually a
dose or two clears it right up. It's a thick, whiteish liquid. The
label on the bottle says:

Maiotic 15 mg [then on the other side] 0.4 (1 each)

However, a search of the Web or common pet med sites turns up nothing.

So what is this stuff? And where can I get it? I've just moved and am
waiting to get in to my preferred veterinarian in this new location,
and of course today I notice the little guy is getting pink, and the
bottle is dry!

Thanks,

Amy

Are you sure the bottle doesn't say "Malotic"?

It could very well! When I search for that, all sorts of things that
make sense comes up. It's still by Rx, though, so it looks like it'll
have to wait until we can get in to the vet. Is there anything that
does a similar job without an RX? I'm doing all I can to prevent, but
I'm just afraid he'll get one while I'm out!
