To learn more about medical therapy for ureteroliths *your vet* should
contact Julie Fischer DVM, DACVIM at the renal medicine/hemodialysis unit at
UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in San Diego.  She and her colleagues
have used a technique utilizing glucagon, mannitol and amitryptilline with
some success to move stones from the ureter to the bladder where they can be
surgically removed via cystotomy.  Whether this medical technique would be
appropriate for your cat depends on a lot of factors but particularly the
size and location of the stone.  If medical therapy is not an option or if
it is unsuccessful then you should request a referral to one of the nearby
veterinary colleges to assess whether surgical removal is possible.  Two
hours is not a long drive.
