Poodle with possible brain disorder?

I had my Poodle's teeth cleaned and it seemed after that she has never
been the same. Her behavior changed and about 3 months after that she
started having ataxia and went blind. I had her eyes checked and her
eyes are fine, so he said it must be something in her brain. I took
her to a neurologist and he suspected a brain tumor. I couldn't afford
the cat scan, $2500!
And I really didn't want to put her through all that since she wasn't
feeling well.
It's been about 3 months since then and she has had good days and bad
days. Intemmitent weeks of feeling real good then  \back to not eating
and less energy. Times I thought I would lose her and then she would
bounce back. But the past 2 weeks she has been doing much better. But
then.....I gave her some vet prescibed valium because she was going to
get groomed and she hasn't been the same since. It's been about 6 days
and her ataxia is much worse she can barely stand.
I've run all kinds of tests  and they turn out fine. Has anyone ever
experienced this or possible give me some idea of the next move to
make? I appreciate any help. Thank you so much!

Can you describe the ataxia more fully?  Plus, how often and
how long?  Is there anything which precedes the ataxia, like a
seizure?

One of my dog's post-ictal symptoms is blindness.

Thanks for getting back with me!

her ataxia is lack of coordination. She loses her balance. She doesn't
have seizures. When I adopted her from my friend who couldn't take
care of her, she had started showing some signs of lack of
coordination and some muscle weakness. But it never got any worse
(that was about 3 months ago) until  about a week ago when I gave her
valium. Now she has such a hard time keeping her balance. It's a
steady lack of coordination. But there are periods of time when she
doesn't want to eat and seems weak. And then she'll snap out of it and
want to eat and has more energy. I say for 3 or 4 days she won't do to
well, and then snap out of it. But her lack of coordination is always
there, just much more now....

Hi,

I haven't been reading this NG lately so I hope this wasn't covered, has
Addison's Disease been ruled out?  The muscle weakness and loss of appetite
and snapping out of it sounds a lot like what my dog went through before
being diagnosed.

When I went to an internist I asked him about Addison's disease and he
said he would do a test on her cortisol (?) levels, but it wasn't the
full Addison's test and it came back negative. I wonder if I should
ask for a full addison's test?

.......test for Addison's is the ACTH stimulation test.  Do you have copies
of all labwork done on this dog?  If not, I'd get them.
