11-year old Brittany. Very active, great spirit and form. Fabulously
healthy (excepting skin allergies) until recently.
She's had numerous "spells" in the last 2 months in which she appears
to have a brain tremor, then becomes agitated and disoriented. We were
up most of last night.
I had an ESS with full blown epilepsy years ago. This is not Gran Mal:
she doesn't lose control, doesn't convulse. She may cry out for a
couple seconds, or, more often, just exhibit uncharacteristic behavior.
She becomes agitated, very clinging (to me), disoriented. Disrupts
her and my sleep patterns.
I took her to the vet last month. He said it could be brain tumor.
More likely idiopathic epilepsy: if recurring regularly she is
a candidate for meds. Charged me $66.
It's hard to identify occurance of what I believe to be brain tremor,
hence difficult to establish regularity. I'm not necessarily in a hurry
to take her back to the vet, he just didn't have that much to say.
Might Rescue Remedy be helpful? UltraCalm biscuits?? Other considerations,
possible diagnoses?
