ALL aggression is FEAR --

ALL FEAR IS CAUSED BY MISHANDLING <{}: ~ ( >

The Wits' End philosophy dictates we must never
have a negative interaction with our dogs so's
they'll naturally want to do everything we ask.

Of course, I hedge my bets with a bHOWEnty of effective
scientific and psychological non physical conditioning,
desensitization, and distraction and praise techniques
which compels dogs to INSTINCTIVELY WANT to do
as we ask.

Consistency is WON criteria of the scientific method.

Effective scientific methods used consistently will modify
any behavior to permenantly habituate the dog to do whatever
we desire, NEARLY INSTANTLY, maybe FASTER.

Using dog's instinctive imperatives to effect our goals
rather than avoiding or repressing behaviors or compulsions
means we can use the so called alpha mentality to our
advantage without lowering our behavior to that of a feral
pack animal an TRYIN to CALL THAT, a "come to Jesus
meeting".

"Correcting" or scolding dogs for their normal, natural,
innate instinctive reflexive behaviors contradicts NATURE
and gives the dog reason to MISTRUST HOWER judgement.

When we see HOWER dog about to do a "bad" behavior, a brief,
variably alternating NON-PHYSICAL distraction gets the dog's
attention -- BUT, for only a fraction of a second.

INSTANTLY following the brief variable distraction with
PROLONGED, SINCERE, EXXXUBERANT, NON-PHYSICAL
PRAISE locks his mind on that blank spot following the brief
distraction.

The dog immediately thinks GOOD thoughts, on accHOWENTA
we're praising him, which causes the dog to RELAXXX an TRUST

Praise gets the dog's cooperation. He feels like we're doing
the same thing he is, that we're BONDING, workin TOGETHER as
a TEAM. As elected team leader, the dog will do as we ask to
promote the welfare of his pack, on accHOWENTA he knows WE

distract and immediately praise ANY *(even "BAD" behaviors)
AGAIN - until we praise a good behavior OPPORTUNITY, and the
subject will jump at the chance to impress us with their ability
to work out the task.

Is it any wonder that the following sig file has generated
more complaints to my personal email than any other
controversial post I have made to date, bar none?:

                       CAVEAT
If you have to do things to your dog to train him that you
would rather not have to do, then you shouldn't be doing
them. If you have a dog trainer who tells you to jerk your
dog around, choke him, pinch his ears, or twist his toes,
shock, shake, slap, scold, hit, chin cuff, scruff shake or
punish your dog in any manner, that corrections OF ANY
KIND are appropriate, that the dog won't think of you as
the punisher, or that corrections are not harmful, or if they
can't train your dog to do what you want NEARLY INSTANTLY,
look for a trainer that knows HOWE.
