How old does a a puppy have to be before it is safe to feed a puppy table
scraps? Does it give them worms or cause other medical problems. My puppy is
a 7 week old Shih Zu named Daphne. Active and Growing in strength. Any info
would help. Thankx

Why do you want to give your puppy table scraps?  If she is eating a quality
puppy food, that's all she needs. Some table scraps can cause
gastrointestinal problems and bones are a choking risk as well as a possible
cause of intestinal perforations. If you want to add a little cottage cheese
to her kibble, that would be OK, but she does not need people food.

117.  Why do you ask?

Table scraps are the biggest cause of pancreatitis ( a VERY painful
condition) that we treat mostly after holidays due to everyone wanting to
give the dog a holiday treat. If you want to supplement with people food,
carrots, apples, brocclli, fruits and veggies. Not table scraps.        Mary
